P had to go away for 3 days and asked if I could possibly make some sense of the mess that is my sewing room. What mess? Ask me where something is and I betcha I could find it in a heartbeat (except for that fabric that I really wanted to use and couldn't find).
This was my sewing room...
Looks organised to me!
This is my sewing room now...
There's a floor!
The bags under the table are P's not mine - ok, well technically they're mine... old shirts that I haven't cut up yet for quilt backing. But they're his shirts!
What you can't see is the sewing table where P does his thing. It's a mess! lol The floor to ceiling shelving on both sides of the room are full to bursting and not very neat but I got a gold star!! I think it was more an A for effort but I'll take it! It took me hours.
Top shelf is solid colored barkcloth... the rest is terry cloth and a little bit of other stuff shoved in between
Need zippers? Don't think I will for a while.
Oh, and I did find that fabric I was looking for. Isn't it a cutie?!

Am I glad too see an organised mess like mine trouble is I cant find what I am looking for when I want it most of the time.
ReplyDeletei also have fabric projects lying all around my house, all in different stages of completion. when i do get around to organizing them, i usually go by color and put small chunks of similar colors in plastic gallon bags so they don't clutter the big chunks up.

ReplyDeleteNelly, I can find things (most times)... it just takes me a little while ;)

ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'm going to get around to color coding fabric - I've seen pics of others doing it and I think it looks fabulous!!
That's quite the fabric stash. It even rivals mine!
ReplyDeleteHey Monique, that looks like SO MUCH FUN all packed into one room!!! x e
ReplyDelete@Couture Allure Vintage Fashion That's only a teeny tiny little bit. I don't know whether to put a happy smilie face or a sad smilie face. I'll just put a maniacal laugh instead... lol
